In order to promote Rwanda safaris Luxe Africa Safaris recognizes Rwanda, often known as the “land of a thousand hills,” for having consistently shown to be an exceptional travel destination.

Any tourist would choose a great interest in one of the many sites and activities that Rwanda has to offer.

On a luxury safari to Rwanda or a trip to Rwanda, some of the most notable places to visit include the volcanoes national park, which is famous for gorilla trekking, the Nyungwe forest national park, which is well-known for chimpanzee trekking, the Akagera national park, which is known for its wildlife, and Rwanda’s largest national park.

Typically, gorilla trekking is the high point of any safari in Africa. The ideal place in Africa to trek these rare but intriguing mountain gorillas (the Gorilla beringei beringei) is Parc national des Volcans. This park is situated on Rwanda’s border with Uganda and the DR Congo. Seven volcanoes make up this mountain range, with the Karisimbi rising to a height of more than 4500 meters.

Some of the last remaining mountain gorillas live on the slopes covered in bamboo and rainforest foliage. These gorillas were first thoroughly examined by George Schaller and, not so long ago, by Dian Fossey, who conducted her research there for 13 years until she inexplicably passed away at Bisoke.

Without her tenacious efforts to stop gorilla poaching, perhaps there wouldn’t be such wonderful scenic views to watch. One of the most carefully protected montane rainforests in all of Africa is Nyungwe Forest. It covers an area of 970 sq. km and offers beautiful views of the surrounding forest, Lake Kivu, and the far-off volcanoes of the Parc National des Virunga.

The main draw here in the luxury safari to Rwanda is taking a guided trip to search for big groups of chimpanzees or black and white Angolan Colobus monkeys, which can number up to 400 individuals per tribe. There are about 270 different types of trees, more than 70 different kinds of animals, 275 different kinds of birds, a plethora of orchids, and a variety of butterflies.

Huge chimpanzee populations can only be compared to those seen in Uganda’s Kibale area national park in this area. This forest’s primate tourism is unparalleled in Africa because to the L’Hoest’s and white Angolan Colobus monkeys. Drive to Nyanza, the ancient residence of Rwanda’s former monarchs, after lunch.

Complete the luxury safari in Rwanda with a visit to this palace and take in some of the elders’ traditional storytelling. The Intore dancers, who gained notoriety in the 1958 international cultural exhibition held in Brussels, are today considered to be among the greatest Rwanda legends. This warrior’s dance, which has rings of bells worn in their combined ankles and a sisal-fiber lion mane, is a treasure of the nation’s choreographic legacy.
