With teak flooring and distinctive accents that pay homage to the local culture, the uniquely designed canvas tents offer a boutique-meets-bush aesthetic that evokes the bygone era.
Sanctuary Tambarare has inviting sofas and chairs that tempt visitors to stay within the roomy and exquisitely furnished main tent. ‘Sun-bleached’ wood and wicker lampshades to vivid bursts of color in the colorful textiles, like wildflowers dotting the terrain, are just a few examples of the camp’s colors that draw inspiration from nature. The gentle lighting and tent-like roof give the space a refined atmosphere.
Each opulent guest tent measures 57 sq m and has an own balcony with views of the green plains. With Masai-inspired painting in traditional blue, which represents the sky and priceless rainwater, gently flowing white drapes enhance to the charm. The super king beds provide floor-to-ceiling dramatic vistas of the surroundings.
The bathroom features a walk-in shower, a double sink, and plush towels. The private home in Sanctuary Tambarare, which opens in July 2023, offers tranquility in the middle of the wilderness. The villa’s two bedrooms, internal and outdoor lounge and dining area, bar, private terrace, and boma all combined modern design with very characterful furnishings. The chic, open-concept accommodation has two bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom and a boutique-meets-bush-style interior.
The guests at Sanctuary Tambarare may take daily wildlife drives via Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where knowledgeable guides enhance the experience. The reserve is home to around 130 black rhinos in addition to the Big Five and several other creatures, including cheetahs, jackals, hippos, and hyenas. The nocturnal creatures that inhabit the plains at night include aardvarks, white-tailed mongooses, zorillas (striped polecats), bat-eared foxes, and maybe lions and leopards. This unique evening excursion is unattainable in the majority of Kenya’s national parks and reserves. For these and more facilities and amenities that Sanctuary Tambarare offers to the visitors we Luxe Africa Safaris recommend the resort to our guests.
