Saruni Samburu

Saruni Samburu is a design lodge that is bringing a new idea to a well-known safari area.

Saruni Samburu

Saruni Samburu

It is perched on the summit of the Kalama Mountains with a 360-degree vista of Northern Kenya and a glimpse of snow-covered Mount Kenya. It is barely seven kilometers—and a thrilling 20-minute game drive—from the northern border of the Samburu National Reserve and was constructed on the pristine territory held by the Kalama Wildlife Conservancy in the 240,000-acre-large Gir Gir Group Ranch.

The resort provides a top-notch safari experience in an entirely natural setting that is off the main path yet still extremely near to the animals. We can now accommodate 20 guests in our 6 villas. The Northern Rangeland (Nrt), an umbrella organization created by Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to promote tourism and conservation in Northern Kenya, has assisted Saruni Samburu, a lodge owned and administered by Saruni Samburu in the Masai Mara.

We go on game drives in the Samburu and Buffalo Springs national reserves, but Kalama, a well-kept secret in Kenya’s north, is where most activities happen. Due to the recent addition of water, Kalama is now a significant draw for all Samburu animals. The management of Saruni Samburu engage in night and early morning game drives in the Kalama Conservancy, excursions to the caves where the Samburu once created rock art while feasting on meat, expertly guided game walks, bush dinners, and stargazing.

The native Samburu people’s customs and semi-nomadic background play a significant role in the experience. Our clients experience a different side of this very well-known location while being led by qualified Saruni Samburu guides, including the sensation of exclusivity, having an enormously big area all to themselves, a high standard of comfort, and custom service.

Saruni Samburu, the lone resort in the pristine Kalama Community Conservancy, is one of Kenya’s most recognizable buildings and is a stronghold of Samburu culture. There are six luxurious eco-chic villas there that may accommodate groups of friends, families, couples, or lone travelers.

With two stunning infinity pools, open living spaces, and a central location on the property, Kudu House provides visitors with the ideal chance to experience the essence of Saruni Samburu. Every angle of this property offers breathtaking views of the conservancy and Mount Kenya.
