The Safari Collection Luxury Edition – Giraffe Manor, Solio Lodge, Sasaab & Salas Camp

Your Luxury Kenyan safari series kicks off in Nairobi at Giraffe Manor, the beautiful English-style manor known for it’s permanent residents, the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes! After a blissful night and an exciting morning feeding the Giraffes, you will board a scheduled flight to Solio Lodge.

An intimate camp with only six thatched cottages. It is located in one of the first private rhino conservancies ever declared in Kenya, which is also home to one of the most successful breeding projects for the Rhinos. There are diverse activities here include a day trip to Aberdare National Park.

After two nights, you head out to Sasaab Camp for another two nights of sensational game watching that includes seeking out the rare and endemic Samburu Special Five. Highlights here are camel trekking and fly-camping, both of which give you a completely different perspective on the surrounding wilderness. From Samburu, you head to the Masai Mara, your destination being Sala’s Camp. You will have front-row seats to the best of the Great Migration action between July and September but with the added benefits of low visitor numbers and privacy because of the camp’s location.

Each of these locations is brimming with conservation and community projects that give back to the land and its people.

Day 1: Giraffe Manor |1 Night

One of the most fascinating things about Giraffe Manor is its resident herd of Rothschild’s giraffes who may visit morning and evening, poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat. The Rothschild’s species of giraffe was once highly endangered, but Giraffe Manor has long been part of a breeding programme which has successfully grown their numbers in the wild.

Day 2 & 3: Solio Lodge Laikipia | 2 Nights

After a blissful night at Giraffe Manor, you board a scheduled flight to Solio Lodge. Solio is famed for its unique rhino viewing experiences. Tucked in the valley between the lofty slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, it is the only guest accommodation on the incredible 45,000-acre Solio Game Reserve.
In addition to the wonderful rhino experience, Solio has fabulously well-rounded safari experience . Encounter an abundance of wildlife during your game drives, go on a horse ride safari, mountain biking adventure, you can also join a visit to one of the local community schools.

Day 4 - 6 : Sasaab Samburu | 3 Nights

Today you transfer to Sasaab. Sasaab is a spectacular luxury tented camp offering the ultimate safari in Samburu. From thrilling games drives to authentic cultural experiences and adrenalin filled fun, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy cook-out bush breakfasts in the bush and encounter the majestic herds of elephants for which Samburu is renowned. Learn about the myriad of birdlife on a nature walk with your guide and take in the incredible scenery from the top of ‘sundowner rock’, a magical place where you can watch the sun sink low and contemplate your safari sightings of the day.
While there, embark on a leisurely camel walks and rides, mountain biking in the wild and rejuvenate at their renowned wellness and spa center.

Day 7-10: Salas Camp | 3 Nights

Your Masai Mara safari will begin the moment you arrive at Sala’s Camp. It sits in one of the best locations in the whole of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Intimate and secluded, it is nestled along the tree lined banks of the Sand River in the southern tip of the reserve.
Explore one the world’s most prolific game areas with our expert safari guides. Home to the ‘big five’, the annual wildebeest migration and mind-blowing wildlife sightings year round, the Masai Mara is a true nature lover’s paradise.
